Our anti-discrimination policy explains how we prevent discrimination and protect our shoppers and vendors from offensive and harmful behaviors. This policy supports our overall commitment to creating a safe and happy environment for everyone.
Vaishyamart complies with all anti-discrimination laws, including [Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA.)] We explicitly prohibit offensive behavior (e.g. derogatory comments towards colleagues
of a specific gender or ethnicity.)
Although Vaishyamart is intended for Vaishnava devotees, products sold by devotee vendors are not limited to devotee customers, but are available for everyone. However, vendors are required to sell items in relation to Krishna consciousness and must follow our policies.
Discrimination is any negative action or attitude directed toward someone because of protected characteristics, like race and gender. Other protected characteristics are:
• Religion / sampradaya / Vaishnavism branches
• Ethnicity / nationality
• Disability / medical history
• Marriage / civil partnership
• Pregnancy / maternity/ paternity
• Gender identity / sexual orientation
We will not tolerate any kind of discrimination that creates a hostile and unpleasant environment.
This is not an exhaustive list, but here are some instances that we consider discrimination:
Refusal of service based on one’s ethnic origin.
Customer after a purchase makes a sexist review.
Vendors sending emails disparaging someone’s sampradaya.
